NAPA and Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority Inc. Announces Partnership With RAINN

Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority, Inc. is pleased to announce it is partnering with the National APIDA Panhellenic Association and RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization, to bring sexual misconduct and allyship training to its members.

“We owe it to our current and future members to provide the highest level of training and education to not only help survivors, but actively prevent sexual violence,” said Teresa Chung, the acting interim National President of Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority, Inc. “This partnership aligns perfectly with our philanthropy and is a partnership we hope to continue for years to come.”

RAINN subject-matter experts will develop and deliver a tailored training that addresses topics of sexual misconduct prevention and response, bystander intervention strategies, and how to support survivors after a disclosure. The RAINN training will be offered starting in mid-October on various days of the week and times of the day to ensure all members who are interested in attending, can sign up for a session that works with their availability.

“College-age adults are at higher risk for sexual violence,” said Clara Kim, vice president of consulting services at RAINN. According to a study by the Association of American Universities, 23.1% of female and 5.4% of male undergraduates experience rape or sexual assault through physical force, violence, or incapacitation. “We’re pleased to have this opportunity to collaborate with Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority, Inc. to reach their broad network of members with targeted education and resources geared toward this especially vulnerable age group. It’s critical that college students know the steps they can take to help create a safer and more respectful campus and to support their peers who may be affected by this pervasive issue.”
